Engineered expressly for heavy duty service, the
Hindustan engine is outstanding for its long life, fuel
economy and high torque output of 34 kg.m.(246 lbs.ft) which
minimise the use of intermediate gears.

Duty Clutch
To suit the high torque- characteristics of diesel engine,
an extra heavy clutch is fitted to all Hindustan models.
The clutch is of particularly massive proportions and is
of strap drive, which reduces friction and lost motion.

Braking for Extra Safety
Hindustan brakes of larger diameter and larger total braking
area are hydraulic on all wheels, with air pressure servo-assistance.
Moderate pedal pressure produces a powerful braking action
and the linkage is so designed that the driver is able to
"feel the brakes". |
